Perspektive Deutsches Kino, a section of the Berlinale dedicated to young German filmmaking, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The Goethe-Institut has taken this as an opportunity to look back at the last 20 years of exciting, innovative and daring works by young German filmmakers. The result is New Directions, an online film series featuring 20 films by a new generation of filmmakers who are not afraid to experiment and challenge the film world with ever new perspectives. The online film series is available from 13 March to 19 April on the Goethe on Demand platform. All films will be presented in their original language with English subtitles.

Festival entry is free and tickets can be picked up on the day for screenings on that day only. First come, first served. Online bookings are available (a non-refundable booking fee of $1.50 per ticket applies) via the Academy Cinemas website, but tickets must be picked up at the counter at least 30 mins prior to the screening, otherwise tickets will be released again.
