Festival Opening Night - February 19th!
Set on the French Riviera, BONJOUR TRISTESSE (1958) features Jean Seberg as a precocious teen who feels very threatened when her father starts dating a rather cultured woman who may disrupt their decadent lifestyle.
BOOM! (1968) is a cult classic set on a secluded Mediterranean island, featuring Elizabeth Taylor and her then-husband Richard Burton in a highly combustible, strangely symbolic encounter.
THE PALM BEACH STORY (1942) is a screwball comedy set in Florida about a married couple who think it might be best if they divorce and find wealthier partners. But how long can they bear to be apart?
Jean-Luc Godard's CONTEMPT (1963) is set on the island of Capri and follows the attempts of a playwright to adapt a film version of The Odyssey, until his wife gets mixed up with the producer...
Set in Italy, THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY (1999) follows Ripley (Matt Damon), a man who will do anything to experience the extravagant lifestyle of Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law), even if it involves breaking the law.
PAPER MOON (1973) is set during the Great Depression in the barren heartlands, where a father and daughter must work together as con-artists to survive! Tatum O'Neil is still the youngest person to ever win an Academy Award!
L'AVVENTURA (1960) is an iconic Michelangelo Antonioni film about a woman who goes missing on a yachting trip to a volcanic island, leaving her friends perplexed and igniting a VERY guilty relationship.
THE GETAWAY (1972) follows a bank heist gone wrong as a husband (Steve McQueen) and wife (Ali MacGraw) must race to Mexico to escape the long arm of the law in Texas.
Screening for $5 Wednesday, I AM LOVE (2009) is Luca Guadagnino's operatic drama about a matriarch who struggles to hold her family together when her mind starts wandering towards an attractive local chef.
