To celebrate the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power tv show this coming September, Academy is screening the original Lord of the Rings Trilogy! $35 tickets grant admission to:
- The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
- The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
ALL EXTENDED EDITIONS!!!!
Each film will have a 20 minute break in-between.
Academy Cinemas doesn't do things half-heartedly, we aren't just playing the boring theatrical releases of the trilogy, we are playing the extended editions. That's right, hours of extra footage in a real cinema, and you don't even have to get up half-way through to change the DVD! The Immersion is real... Apart from the 15 minute credits.
Join us and all of your favourite LOTR characters, like Gandalf, Frodo, Orlando Bloom, a dwarf and Bilbo, before Peter Jackson returned to the franchise and ruined them. Relive the nostalgia that put New Zealand on the map, after Xena: Warrior Princess had already put us on the map... How does that work? Maybe one island each?
Disclaimers: of course we don't think the original theatrical releases are boring, but the extended editions are so much more exciting!
No further comment on The Hobbit. But, come on. What was that?
