Fiona Clark's photographic career was almost over before it began. Her early photographs celebrated gay liberation, and mainstream New Zealand was scandalised; her negatives were censored, images were pulled from exhibition and art dealers refused to work with her. In this film Clark talks about overcoming the censorship, homophobia and sexism of 1960s and 70s New Zealand and securing her name as a social documentarian. The trailer shows Clark going through negatives and clippings in the decommissioned Taranaki dairy factory she lives and works in, as friends comment on her proud "eccentricity". - NZ ON SCREEN
